Terms & Conditions

Mr Growler, the owner and administrator of this website, welcomes you to his store and hopes you enjoy visiting it almost as much as you enjoy your purchases. He also welcomes your return again soon.

The “AMERICAN GROCERY STORE” is a registered trading name and cannot be used or reproduced. For the purpose of these TERMS & CONDITIONS, the American Grocery Store is hereinafter referred to as “The Company,” “we,” or “us.” The person, persons, or company using or making a purchase from this website may hereinafter be referred to as “The Purchaser” or “you.”

“Goods” relate to all items The Company supplies to The Purchaser whosoever as named/described on an officially numbered invoice or delivery note created by The Company.

The AMERICAN GROCERY STORE logo and website design are copyright to the American Grocery Store and may not be reproduced or copied in any shape or form without our permission.

Photographs, illustrations, and product descriptions on the website are a combination of our own work and material provided from our suppliers. These materials may not be reproduced without the permission of the copyright holder. You must source your own material directly to ensure you are not infringing on works and derivations owned by us.

All prices are quoted in UK pounds Sterling, and no other currency is accepted.

We use Sage Pay to collect and process transaction information, click here for further information on Sage Pay security policy. No goods or stock will be dispatched until full payment has been received and cleared into The Company’s bank account. Ownership and title to The Goods remains the property of The Company until such times as full and final payment is made.

All prices shown are ex-warehouse, quoted in UK pounds sterling, strictly net and are subject to change without prior notification. Every effort will be made to maintain prices, but exchange rate fluctuations, tax changes and variations in raw material costs may necessitate price changes imposed by our suppliers. All orders are accepted on this basis.

Certain products are subject to VAT and will be charged at the standard rate of 20% (subject to Government changes). The prices indicated on the website include VAT where applicable, and VAT charged is shown on the invoice only.

Often misinterpreted as the American date format is expressed as Month/Day/Year, especially when the second set of figures is below 12. European dates are expressed as Day/Month/Year. (eg. 4th July 2018 in America is written 7/4/2018) The terms “Best Before”(UK), or “Better if used by” and “Best by”(USA) are purely aimed as a suggestion, and do not indicate that the item HAS to be consumed by this date. It is perfectly legal to sell a product after this date, but it is definitely ILLEGAL to try to conceal or alter it. Manufacturers always like to over compensate to cover themselves, hence a “durability date” is presented rather than an “expiry date” which is more finite.
